Meet the Women of Vision 2020 Award Recipients

Community Award - 

The Community Award celebrates a woman who works directly with the Chicago community to make a difference in the lives of women and children. This year we are proud to give this honor to a woman who has lead a start-up Non-Profit, The Daisie Foundation, as board president. From Mothers’ Day makeovers, to their annual Leading Ladies Luncheon and holiday outreach, she has been hands-on in every effort. 

Founders Awards

The Founders Award is presented to an entrepreneur who has has the game and redefined her industry and space. This year’s recipient, Katrina Markoff, founder of Vosges Chocolate, changes the way we taste and view Chocolat, refined the boundaries of our palates, and created a brand that gives back. Her line Wild OPhelia benefits women, and she has grown her company right her in Chicago. 

Philanthropy Award -

  • The Philanthropy Award acknowledges the leadership of non-profit organizations that are making CHicago a better place. The honoree this year has a long resume of civil service, but her current role leading The Chicago Foundation for Women is one with considerable impact on the non-profits throughout Chicagoland that benefit women and children. Felicia Davis, please accept this honor for Philanthropy. 

    Technology Award

  • The Technology Award acknowledges women leading in the field of technology. This year’s winner has, with her business partner, created a product that was simply ingenis, it literally brings light to everyone. LuminAid is a solar-powered device that has an inflatable case that can be used literally anywhere without the need for electricity. It has been used in disaster relief efforts and all over the world. An alos, might I add, a Shark Tank winner backed by none other than Mark Cuban, Andrea Sreshta. 

    Woman of the YearThe Woman of Year Award

  • Our Woman of the Year honors a woman who could have possibly received multiple awards to night—she is a woman who wears more than one hat, who has made her mark in her community, to the world, to her industry and touched thousands of lives. She heads up an international company and has grown it to ver 10x the size as when she took the helm. She started a non-profit to privide funding for Rape Test Kits. She has produced award winning documentaries that have shed light onto some of the most important issues to women today. And this all just the highlight reel.
